Welcome to HeyDer. By signing up, booking a dinner, or using our website at heyder.nz, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Who We Are

HeyDer is a curated social dining experience based in Auckland, New Zealand. We match groups of six people for weekly Tuesday dinners at partner restaurants across the city. Our service includes personality-based & preference based matching, restaurant booking coordination, and dinner facilitation.

2. Eligibility

To use HeyDer you must:
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be based in or visiting Auckland, New Zealand
  • Provide accurate information in your quiz and registration details
  • Agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy

3. The Booking Fee

HeyDer charges a non-refundable booking fee to secure your spot in a matched dinner group. Current pricing:
  • First 50 signups: NZD $5 per booking
  • After first 50 signups: NZD $10 per booking
The booking fee covers our matching service, restaurant coordination, and group facilitation. It does not include the cost of food and drinks, which are paid directly at the restaurant on the night.

4. Food and Dining Costs

The set menu dinner cost is paid directly at the restaurant on the evening of your dinner. Prices range from NZD $45 to $65 per person depending on the menu option you selected during registration. HeyDer is not responsible for any additional food, drinks, or charges incurred at the venue beyond the agreed set menu.

5. Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens. Our cancellation policy is as follows:
  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the dinner: your booking fee will be credited toward a future dinner
  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the dinner: the booking fee is forfeited
  • No-shows on the night: the booking fee is forfeited and your spot may affect other guests’ experience
To cancel please email us at info@heyder.nz with your name and booking details.

6. Matching and Group Assignment

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the dinner: your booking fee will be credited toward a future dinner
  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the dinner: the booking fee is forfeited
  • No-shows on the night: the booking fee is forfeited and your spot may affect other guests’ experience

7. Code of Conduct

All HeyDer attendees are expected to:
  • Treat all other guests with respect, kindness, and dignity
  • Arrive on time or communicate promptly if running late
  • Not engage in any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour
  • Respect the privacy of other attendees — do not share personal information shared at dinner without consent
HeyDer reserves the right to remove any attendee from the platform who violates this code of conduct, without refund of any booking fees paid.

8. Photography and Content

Do not photograph or film other attendees without their explicit consent. If you share content from a HeyDer dinner on social media, please ensure all individuals visible have agreed to be featured. HeyDer may request permission to use photos or content from dinners for marketing purposes and will always seek consent before doing so.

9. Limitation of Liability

HeyDer is a facilitation service. We are not responsible for:
  • The behaviour of any dinner attendee
  • Any personal injury, property damage, or loss occurring at or in connection with a dinner
  • The quality of food, service, or experience at partner restaurants
  • Any outcomes — social, personal, or otherwise — resulting from attendance at a HeyDer dinner
By attending a HeyDer dinner you acknowledge that you do so voluntarily and at your own discretion.

10. Changes to These Terms

HeyDer reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted at heyder.nz. Continued use of our service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
